I'm 21 and I come from Monte Di Malo, a very small town in the North side of Italy
Is Shorelle your real name?
No, that's my stage name. It comes from S.R.L,
which is my writing method, based on channeling different characters (Sheena, Ronelle and Elle) depending on the music I am writing. My real name is Linda Quero
When did you start writing?
It was relatively late to be honest, when I was 18.
I've always been singing and acting, but I never thought I could have had a career as a songwriter. It was my sister who "discovered" me. I was playing the guitar and humming one of my songs, when she entered in my room and said:"Sounds great! Who wrote this"?
That's when it all started!
Where are you based?
I moved to London right after high school in 2017. I've always wanted to have a career in music and I figured it was the best place to go to.
When did you start writing K-pop and why?
K-pop was very new to me. Before I started writing it, I've only listened to it couple of times. Then my publisher made me a playlist and I immediately fell in love with the genre. The music, the dance, the clothes.. K-POP has it all. I feel it's really close to me as when I write a song I literally picture the whole thing, from the choreography to the merchandise related.
So I started working on it, collaborating with many producers and writing non-stop. It took a while, but after I sold my first song my career started taking off very fast. Now I'm just enjoying the ride and giving the best that I can to an industry I genuinely love.
What are your plans for the future?
Hard to say, there are so many things I want to do!
First, I really want to establish myself as a songwriter in K-pop. I've also just received one cut in Japan and two in China, so I plan to write more songs for those industries as well.
Lastly, I would like to relocate to South Korea in September and start my own artist management.
I want to be closer to the music and to the culture I love.. Speaking of which, anyone knows where I can find a great noodles place in Seoul?
